Neuroscience Research Laboratory

About the Laboratory

The Neuroscience Research Laboratory at Universidad Andina del Cusco studies the molecular, cellular, and behavioral mechanisms underlying brain function and dysfunction. Our main research areas include neuronal and synaptic plasticity, neural circuits, neurodegenerative diseases, and epilepsy.
We focus on how gene expression, epigenetic changes, and cell-to-cell communication affect neurological disorders. The goal is to identify therapeutic targets that can prevent or slow disease progression, rather than only treating symptoms.
Our team uses experimental neuroscience, molecular biology, and behavioral approaches to study the brain from molecules to circuits to behavior.
